Huawei’s entry into the smart watch market was unique, bucking the trend in a new market saturated with high tech designs. The Huawei Watch embodied a classic aesthetic built with smart technology inside.
Our brief was to launch the Huawei Watch into the fashion world, shifting perception of what a Chinese technology brand can be. Supporting the ATL launch with social content and three exclusive events in Berlin, Milan Fashion Week and London
For Milan Fashion Week, we commissioned a limited-edition watch — combining the artistic vision of Milanese icon Fornasetti with the technological innovation of Huawei. For the first time in history, the illustrative work of Piero Fornasetti had been applied to a piece of digital technology.
We worked with Fornasetti and Huawei design teams to specify the watch strap, canvassed in the classic green ‘malachite’ motif (a rich green gemstone) and limited-edition packaging.
We created a film to document the partnership for Huawei channels and media.
